Elkizi Review: Is This Turkish Series Worth Watching?

The Story

What Is Elkizi About?

Elkizi tells the story of Ezo, a young woman who holds tightly to the memory of her late mother. She lives in a painful home — her father and grandmother make her life very hard. But Ezo refuses to break.

Things get worse when a man named Harun and his mother plan to use Ezo’s difficult situation to get back the money and power they lost. But they picked the wrong woman. Ezo is stronger than they think.

What Makes It Special

Ezo and Ali — The Heart of the Show

The real reason to watch this show is the love story between Ezo and Ali. Ali has loved Ezo since they were children. They have been friends for many years. Even when Ezo married another man, Ali never left her side. He stayed loyal. He stayed kind.

This is one of those rare Turkish shows where love is given to the person who was loyal — not the most dramatic.

Ali knew Ezo better than anyone. The writer made a great choice — instead of giving Ezo a new love interest, they gave her Ali. The person who was always there. That felt real and earned.

The Lead Character

Ezo — A Strong Female Lead

Ezo is not a character who suffers in silence. She fights back. When people treat her badly, she does not just accept it. This is rare in Turkish drama, and it is one of the best things about this show.

She is strong but also human. She carries real pain, but she does not let that pain make her weak. She is someone you want to cheer for from the very first episode.

The Problems

Why It Falls Short

The show was cancelled, and it shows. The ending feels very rushed. Many stories are left without answers. Things that should have happened never did.

The biggest problem? Ezo and Ali do not get enough screen time together. For a show where their love story is the best part, they are pushed to the side too often. Other characters take up too much space.

The show also uses a very annoying trick — when a secret is about to come out, it never does. The big moment keeps getting pushed away. This happens too many times and it gets frustrating.

Quick Verdict

Love It or Leave It?

✓ Watch If You Love

  • Loyal, slow-burn love stories
  • Strong female lead characters
  • Childhood friends to lovers
  • Real emotional depth

Final Word

Elkizi has a beautiful heart — Ezo and Ali are a couple worth loving. But the cancellation hurt the show badly. If you can accept an unfinished story, the journey is still worth it. Just do not expect a proper goodbye.
